Tuesday Lecture 15/8/12

Yesterdays lecture was I think uncomfortable for some but informative at the same time. This is an area of education most of us are reluctant to delve into. I am not personally comfortable to talk about some of the things mentioned but when we talk about and discuss the meanings and what it is to be a friend and have relationships this is an important part of growing up. We all need to know about relationships and friends and how we can deal with them in positive ways. This is an area that is often overlooked in health and also one that is of uttmost importance in our lives and for our own mental health and wellbeing. Ways to deal with problems that occur through relationships and what they mean and effects they have on us will occur throughout our lives, but begiing to look at and amswer some questions about this even at a young age can be beneficial.

Wednesday Tutorial 8/8/12

We began HPE on Wednesday by teaching my lesson intro to a group, I used the traffic light game. This game involved using 3 different activities. Each activity was paired to light colour. Green was run, orange was jump with two feeet together, and red was stop. This was explained to the group and they were told that if they move on red they must go back to the start.

The first few games went well and the winners had the chance to call out the commands to the next game, some of the winners had the chance to change the gam activities for green and orange.

The class followed this by breaking into groups and teaching an activity to the group using a distict teaching style. My activity was to teach the group to make the cup and sauser string game with a large rope using the convergent theory. this was a very difficult activity to manage with many people but we tried to work co-operatively to do this.

The other activities were interesting and quite informative, these tuts give a good chance for us to practice our styles and see different styles while juggling and being bullied.

Lessons and Tut activity

I am thinking about the lesson planning that is needed for the HPE classes and what I am going to be doing with the group for tomorrows tutorial, for the opening activities. As the weather can be changable this time of year I will need to accomodate that into my ideas of what we can do, I am hoping it is fine so we can use the courts outside and play our game/activity there otherwise I am considering a ball catching activity working in a square in the gym. The outside activity is a "Traffic Light" Activity where each colour has a different meaning and involves a different form of locomotion. 
Red is as always "STOP".
Orange can be any form of locomotion from skipping to crawling.
Green is traditionally running or a faster paced movement.

Anyone that moves on Red must go back to the start and try again.
